In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, we talk to Cynthia Tripathi. Cynthia is the author of the book Escaping Average: 18 Tips to Spark Positive Momentum and Transform Your Life. Cynthia wanted to show people how easy it is to kick-start positive transformation in their lives. The book covers 6 major areas of your life and also gives a 30-day action plan for each area.

Cynthia graduated college with a 4.0 GPA and holds a Bachelor’s Degree. She has traveled the country and has lived in 7 different states. She has also been a personal trainer, worked in the financial planning world, and is a UPW Firewalker. With persistence, drive and ambition her life's journey is to always improve herself and to never quit learning. Her latest project is LAND! She bought The Land Geek Toolkit and is currently a student of ours.

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark talks with the founder of 1-800-GOT-JUNK, Brian Scudamore; O2EBrands.com 

Brian talks with us about how he got started in a pick-up truck picking up junk to pay his way through college to owning several successful businesses and is on his way to making a billion in revenue! It took him 8 years to make that first million, but now he does that in ONE day. 

What does it take to get to that level?  

Stick-With-It-Ness! Do not give up. To build a great company you have to go through: 

  • The ups and downs
  • Making mistakes
  • Learning process
  • Tweaking the model and making it better! 

You also need to build a great team. Find the right people, train them right and treat them right! Brian gives his team 5 weeks off a year.  

When building a great company with great people you need to have them live great lives. 

Brian also shares with us how his second business almost failed because he had reached a level of arrogance in thinking that he had it all figured out. Each company is different and what worked for the first one may not work for the next one. He took that lesson learned into his 3rd and 4th company and they are now successful because of it.

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark talks to Carrie Wilkerson from CarrieWilkerson.com—The Barefoot Executive. Carrie has a long list of attributes, including Best-Selling Author, International Speaker, Award Winning Podcaster, and named by Forbes as a top small business influencer. 

She is also a mother of 4, has lost 140 pounds, runs several successful businesses from home and has paid off a 6-figure debt! How does she do it? 

It all comes down to making one decision at a time and changing your behavior one day at a time to change your patterns. Here is how to get started:

  • Be honest with yourself—Your naked before picture. Really acknowledge what it looks like now, whatever it is that you're trying to change.  
  • Make your one time decisions—Your non-negotiables. Make your decisions and create your routines in advance.
  • Make those decisions when you are stronger—so in your weak moments there are no decisions to be made because you've already made them! You tend to make bad decisions when you are weak.
  • Start with a couple of manageable decisions. Don't overload yourself with change, or else you are setting yourself up for failure.  

We also discuss the one thing you need to overcome to succeed at any business and that is FEAR....Fear of what other's think of you and fear of failure. You have to put yourself out there and embrace the suck—that's where the real growth comes from.

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark talks to Ramon Ray of RamonRay.com. Ramon has done it all, from working at the UN to becoming an entrepreneur. He started 4 companies and sold 1. He's the editor and founder of Smart Hustle Magazine, author of 3 books, journalist, global speaker, mentor, former technology consultant, event producer and host. And what does a guy who has done it all do next? He interviews the President! He interviewed President Obama in the President's first live Google Hangout! 

How did Ramon get to that level? He did not take NO for an answer! Instead he let it fuel his fire. He explains that the 2 most important things that got him there were: 

  • Persistence
  • Hard Work 

Where can you apply those 2 qualities in your own business to push yourself ahead?  

Ramon talks about the 3 phases he went through when starting out as an entrepreneur and his favorite tech pieces that he uses in his own businesses. Then Mark puts him on the spot and has him defend Infusionsoft aka CONfusionsoft.

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk to Network Marketer, Bob Heilig at BobHeilig.com

Bob started off doing a daily broadcast on Periscope and built up a very large following and then moved into the next phase, monetizing.  After making $30,000 on his first webinar and another $83,000 in sales from that by offering 90 day live coaching, he made $112,000 off that first webinar! So how did he do it and how can his method benefit you when it comes to building up your list? 

  • To start building a following, you have to lead with giving value first. With Bob starting out on Periscope giving away advice and teaching without asking anything in return, that led to a large following.
  • You have to be consistent. Consistency develops Know, Like, and Trust. By Bob showing up everyday to do his live webinar, people began to Know, Like, and Trust him. Once you build that trust you can sell people anything as long as it has value and you're operating with ethics and integrity.
  • And third, do not be an infomercial! Promoting yourself or your company all the time WILL drive people away.  

Those 3 qualities can be very beneficial when building up your own list. Listen in as he goes deeper into these matters and so much more!
